Mark Furman, RFC
Mark Furman started in the financial services business in the late 1980`s.
With his background in economics and finance he developed a specialization in investment and risk planning for seniors and is a specialist in the area of distribution planning and long term care planning.
Concentrating his practice in the area of Retirement Management, which is the financial and non-financial concerns of retirees, he is an industry educator, and among others has taught continuing education to major accounting firms such as Albrecht, Viggiano and Zureck, CPA®`S, LLP on Long Island and Lazar, Levine & Co. LLP in New York City. He has also lectured to the elder law chapters of the Nassau and Suffolk County Bar Associations on the subject of Long Term Care Planning and Medicaid planning. In 2000 Mark joined Howard and Ira Materetsky CFP® and merged his investment planning practice to increase the resources available to him in his practice of Retirement Management.
Mark is a Registered Financial Consultant and holds appropriate securities registrations and insurance licenses. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the Financial Services Institute, and International Association of Registered Financial Consultants.
As a hobby, Mark is also an NCAA Softball Umpire for the AAC and East Coast Conference, and also for the NYSPHSAA for Nassau County High Schools as well as ASA and USSSA Travel Ball.
Mark currently resides on Long Island with his wife Sheryl. They have two adult children, Melissa, an Elementary School Teacher, and Michael, an ASE Certified Auto Technician. Mark has 2 Grandchildren, Blake and Dylan.
